Installation Sketch/Collage

Students created two visual pieces: an 8.5"x8.5" black and white sketch emphasizing texture and materiality, and an 11"x17" abstract collage depicting their project's concept, issues, and development process with sketches, images, text, and found objects.

For this installation project, my team decided to address the issue of overconsumption prevalent in our society and its adverse effects. To tackle this, we crafted an immersive and confrontational abstract representation showcasing the magnitude of our consumption habits. My collage continues these themes, employing concept sketches and other abstract storytelling devices to convey its message effectively. In my concept sketch, I've depicted the installation with exact site modeling in SketchUp and incorporated abstract, overstimulating forms to symbolize its mass.
