Book Cover Graphic Design
Students redesigned book covers related to their interests, using design principles to convey the theme effectively and innovatively improve upon the original.
I redesigned the book cover for "In Praise of Shadows" by Junichiro Tanizaki, aiming to preserve its simplicity while enhancing its abstract appeal. I recreated the traditional Japanese home element of Shoji, employing stark black and white contrast to depict light filtering through, casting shadows. This design extends across the spine and back cover, subtly blending onto the inside flaps housing the summary and author’s bio.
